Anthony D. Atwood, Ph.D.
Executive Director
Dr. Atwood is a retired Navy Chief Warrant Officer 3 with a BA from the University of Miami, and the MA and Doctorate from Florida International University. A native Miamian, he saw service aboard USS Dixon (AS-37), USS Conquest (MSO-488) and USS Bolster (ARS-38). He is a graduate of the Army Command and General Staff College Military History Instructor Course. He has taught extensively at the college level and serves as the Resident Military Historian for the FIU Jack Gordon Institute for National Security. His dissertation posted online, a History of WWII in Florida, has had over 9,000 readers. While in service he was awarded the Certificate in Systems Analysis by UCLA. He served during Desert Storm and Operation Noble Eagle. He helped build Camp X-Ray at GTMO and served on the 2009 Presidential Inauguration Military Committee. He is a founding father of this institution.

Thomas V. Gammon, J.D.
Education Officer
Mr. Gammon is a retired U.S. Air Force Lieutenant Colonel and currently serves as the Educational Specialist for the Museum. Mr. Gammon has thirty years as a Miami-Dade County Public School educator and twenty-seven years in the Air Force (both active and reserve duty). In May 2016 he was elected to serve a three-year term as the First Vice President of the United Teachers of Dade. Mr. Gammon has received numerous awards, including Miami Dade County Teacher of the Year, and the Milkin Family Foundation National Educator Award. He was appointed to the White House Strategy Session on Hispanic Student Achievement and served on the Miami-Dade County Children’s Trust Board of Directors. Mr. Gammon holds a BA from UF in Education and a Juris Doctor from the University of Mississippi.

Larry Floyd
Welcome Center/Gift Shop Manager
Mr. Floyd is a retired Major in the Florida Army Guard. A Miami native, he graduated from Florida A&M University in Tallahassee with a major in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. While at FAMU he won an Army ROTC Scholarship and on graduation was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in 1975. His active assignments included Fort Bragg, NC, and overseas at Stuttgart, Germany. Returning stateside he affiliated with the Reserve 3220th Army Garrison at West Palm Beach. He commanded the Departure/Arrival Airfield Control Group (DAAAG). He was activated in 1990 and operated Hunter Army Airfield deploying and returning troops and equipment for Desert Shield/Desert Storm. He retired from the service in 1994.
He then took an Education Degree from FIU for the Miami Dade County Public School System, where he taught Biology. He led the high school Agroscience and Engineering Technology Academy for 14 years. He retired from Miami Dade County Schools in 2012.

Raul Santiago
Adjutant
Mr. Santiago is the son of Cuban Exiles and was born in Miami. He has over thirty years of experience in Civil Service, including U.S. Customs and extensive expertise in aviation and Miami International Airport. Duties and expertise include Security monitor and VIP details coordinated with Federal, State and local agencies. He is a proud graduate of FIU in Public Administration. He is a lifelong student of militaria, history and museum science.

Richard Jay Tedlow
Duty Corpsman
Richard was born and raised in Miami. He joined the Navy in 1968 and retired in 1995 as a Chief Hospital Corpsman in the Navy Reserve. He holds an RN Degree from Miami-Dade College and served as a Pediatric Nurse at Baptist Hospital of Miami for 42 years. Richard has served as Camp Nurse Sunny Shores Sea Camp for children with Cystic Fibrosis and Camp Fiesta for children with cancer. He is past-president of the Miami Chief Petty Officers Association and is the Executive Officer of the NAS Richmond Sea Cadet youth group.

Juan Jose Duenas
Exhibitor
Mr. Duenas is a retired Air Force Master Sergeant with thirty years of service in the active and reserve components of the Air Force. As a Security Chief he deployed around the world with his detachment from Homestead Air Force Base, including Europe, Turkey, Brazil, and Kuwait; among others. He served as the Veterans Coordinator for the Mayor of the City of Miami. As such he executed Airshows, police instruction and force protection, and Homeless Veterans Stand-Downs providing medical care and housing for needy Veterans.
