The Miami Dade Military Museum and Memorial is honored to be donating a library set of military history books to each of the 27 Miami-Dade County Public Schools JROTC Programs.
United States military history curriculum allows educators to reach high school student’s interests, encourage career and citizenship skills, understand our country’s military history, as well as fulfill a variety of social studies standard requirements. Learning about military history helps students become engaged and thoughtful citizens by expanding their knowledge base, developing vital critical thinking and decision-making skills, and enhancing their understanding of the United States’ and others’ cultures. Studying military history identifies models of self-discipline, bravery, and intellectual curiosity through the stories of those who have served.

The Miami Dade Military Museum is happy to work with and support educators interested in teaching their students a part of our community’s history. Through field trips, lesson plans and events, the museum will show students a fascinating part of South Florida military history, and how it plays a role in military history worldwide.
Simulations
In partnership with Florida International
University (FIU), the Miami Dade Military Museum hosts National Security Simulation Series aimed at deepening our community’s understanding of watershed moments in American military history. Simulations are led by FIU Jack D. Gordon Institute for Public Policy director Brian Fonseca.
